An unusual, superb quality Victorian silver plated six slice toast rack formed from crossed rifles, very finely cast and each stamped also with the number 1871 just above the trigger. The handle is formed as a wreath. Stamped with a registration design lozenge dating the piece to October 1871 and the maker's mark for Thomas Campion & Sons of Sheffield. It is thought to been made in commemoration of the end of the Franco-Prussian (German) war.

It measures 15.5cm (6 1/8") high, 17cm (6 5/8") long and 10cm (3 7/8") wide.

In excellent condition with no damage, dents, distortions or repairs. It stands well and there is minimal handling wear. We are now taking a few days off for Christmas, back on the 5th of January. Wishing all our customers a very Happy Christmas!!
