This is a very rare original woodblock print by British Artist William Giles. The print is called September Moon and depicts a flock of sheep laying below a group of moon lit trees. I believe this to be one of the very first woodblock prints Giles created and from what I have been able to find out, it is thought to have been printed around 1901.

The woodblock has been laid down onto board and is signed with initials in the image. The woodblock is complete, but the edges of the sheet have been folded around the board. There is a pencil signature by Giles and something else written in pencil, but it is not legible.

The print is offered in a period gilt frame. The frame measures 42cm x 22cm.

Condition

The condition is generally good. As mentioned though the image is complete the sheet has been wrapped around the back board so the print has lost most of its margin and it obscures the signature. There is some light rubbing and a couple very small deeper scratches near the bottom of the trees on the left hand side. We have a 14 day return policy. We accept returns if item is not as described or generally you are not happy with the item, buyer to pay return postage. Full refund of purchase price on safe return minus postage costs. This is only available within 14 days of receipt of the item.
