Ola Gorie is one of Scotland's finest and most celebrated modern antique jewellery designers. Born in Kirkwall, Orkney, she trained at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen before returning to Orkney in 1960, when she began to create her own unique antique jewellery. Gorie draws inspiration from the Norse heritage of Orkney as well as the natural forms of animals and plants from the islands.

This goose brooch is beautifully modelled in Sterling Silver and is typical of the high quality work that Ola Gorie produces. The brooch bears the earlier OMG maker's mark and is stamped ST.SIL for Sterling Silver. It dates to the 1960s/70s.

The brooch is 2.4cm by 2.5cm and weighs 3.9g.
