Rare Liberty and Co William Birch Armchair C1910
A rare example of a classic William Birch of High Wycombe mahogany armchair likely designed by EG Punnett for Liberty & Co London.
The chair is a wonderful individual design. We have a raised deep back rail with a fabulously detailed classic design of mixed wood marquetry which is mimicked to both sides. The ends terminate in matched slender capped uprights, the whole piece sits on well shaped sled type feet. Upholstered back in period inspired quality fabric.
The chair sits firm with no wobbles or repairs. Historic wear marks, as expected but nothing nasty with a pleasing deep tone and colour. We can assist with a little cushion pad for the seat if you require one at a cost of £90 plus fabric, around 1 meter would be required.
Without doubt a super looking period armchair.
Dimensions - Overall: Height 82.5cm x Width 54cm x Depth 46.5cm
Dimensions - Specifically the Seat: Height 34.5cm x Width 46-41cm (Front-Rear) x Depth 45-41cm (Mid-Sides) Billy Hunt has successfully focused on British furniture, lighting and accessories since 2015.
