A fabulous and increasingly RARE large example of a hallmarked Spanish SILVER articulated fish ~ 12.6inches (~320mm) in length and weighing a substantial 280gm.

Produced by Spanish master silversmiths in the 1930's, this lovely item is in Superb Condition with no apparent damage, dings or marks.

Spanish Silver Hallmarks comprising a pentagram star indicating a minimum of 915 parts per 1000 silver purity, below which is the maker's mark. The silver has a light gilt finish.

A striking head with large mouth and ruby red glass eyes, 2 lower lateral fins on which the fish can 'stand' for display, dorsal fin and fully articulated body and tail. The body is beautifully fabricated in 32 articulated sections giving the fish an uncannily lifelike movement.
