A superb carved and stained wooden novelty snuff box, I think in Birch wood. It is rare to find these crouching man snuff boxes and a rare find to come across one of these double headed ones.

There is a wooden hinged lid to the back and a stopper to the underside.

Dating to the late 18th century to early nineteenth century and English in origin. Excellent condition with light wear commensurate with age, measuring 3 1/2" tall x 2 1/4" x 1 3/4".
