Rare Boer War Period Military Print, South Africa
Offered for sale is this rare and most impressive Boer War period military print:
The Roll of All South African Colonial Units Who Served in the Boer War for the British Empire, in the form of a poster with the monograms VRI and ERI over the Prince of Wales' Plumes and ribbon scroll 1899 Boer War - 1901, the field is filled with scrolls and flaming grenade shaped panels each intricately inscribed with the names of the members of each unit. The poster was designed by Colour Sergeant Major W G Duncan and Sergeant F Arthur Stevenson, Cape Garrison Artillery Volunteers.
It was printed and published by William Stableford & Co. Ltd., Capetown, South Africa, circa 1901.
