An Asprey of London Letter Box or "Combination Hall Letterbox & Guide Book Rack’ as it was titled when it was retailed in circa 1900. This high quality table top letter box has 2 open compartment to either side which would have taken local directories and tourist information - it would have been found in Hotels and larger homes. There is a brass slot for you to post your letter in and the looking glass is bevelled. The box is fitted with a Bramah lock and comes with 2 Bramah keys, beneath is a small drawer entitled telegrams. This neat item is stamped by Asprey to the lock and is in complete and original condition throughout, wonderful colour and lustre to the Oak.
