A Victorian Scottish agate brooch with a difference – a chilli!
I’ve seen and handled quite a few antique agate brooches over the years, but I’ve never come across any quite like this one.
This beauty doesn’t just have the usual striking design and patterns that you’d expect from examples of quality Scottish agate antique jewellery, but also the image of a chilli pepper in one of the agates!
Mother Nature has certainly created something utterly surprising and amusing here.
The brooch measures 4.6 x 3.4 cm.
Condition: some misshapen parts to the silver and a small chip to the edge of one of the agates. But generally good for age.
This isn’t just a rare find, it’s a one-off piece (as you’d imagine).
