This stunning quality shell cameo depicts four women at the baths, either bathing or relaxing. The baths look very palatial with water spouts and corinthian columns leading to a view of trees and hills in the distance. It was probably made in Italy in the town of Torre del Greco, near Naples, during the first half of the 19th century.

This Victorian shell cameo brooch is exceptionally well carved with attention to quality and detail. The carving is deep giving a rounded, relief, appearance. It has a 14 carat, very attractive, gold frame which is marked 14K, and has also been tested.

The shell is 7.5 centimeters by 5.5 centimeters. Including the frame the brooch measures 8.5 centimeters by 6.5 centimeters. The gross weight is 31 grams.

The condition is excellent with no problems at all.
