Potrait Of A Curate C. 1820
A half length English school portrait of an early 19th century curate. The subject, a fine early 19th century gentleman who has a rather prominent nose, reminiscent in a way of the Duke of Wellington, has been painted by an accomplished hand. With the stamp of Charles Roberson of Long Lane, London to verso who was operating an artist supplies business using that stamp between 1819-1828. Oil on canvas, later frame.
