19thc portrait of William Burden Muller by Hubert Von Herkomer (later Sir 1849-1914) monogrammed and dated '85 above the left shoulder, this is partially obscured by the frame. In a good Kent frame.

Provenance: Shakenhurst Hall, Cleobury Mortimer.

Hubert Von Herkomer was a Bavarian born British painter who was Knighted in 1907 by Edward VII.
