A superb quality early 19th Century oil on canvas portrait of a Vatican Cardinal in red robe wearing a large Crucifix.The painting is in very clean and overall good condition.
The frame is stunning and has been exceptionally well hand carved and decorated with an elaborate foliate scroll leaf design finished in gold leaf.The frame itself is a very valuable example of craftsmanship at its best.
