An attractive vintage tribal style Persian rug from the ancient city of Nahavand in western Iran with a large central motif inside multiple borders all decorated with branch, leaf and flower motifs. Principal colours are red and black, and with cream, blue-green, orange and cream as secondary. The rug is hand-knotted from 100% sheep's wool which has a natural shine typical of the rugs from this region.

The rug has been photographed from both ends as the colours change slightly when viewed from different directions.

Dimensions: 240 x 157 cm

Weight 10.7 kg

Condition: The rug is about 30 years old and is in good vintage condition. It possesses a good pile with just the odd area exhibiting slightly more wear. There is a little damage to one fringe which is stable and, according, to the previous owner, was like this from new. The rug has been professionally washed and is ready for a place in your home.
