Wonderful 16th-century oak court cupboard, very original condition and colour.
Please take a look at the pictures and you will see the quality of this lovely piece of early north English probably North Yorkshire or Northumberland. Circe 1580/1600

From a Scottish castle that was demolished in 1950.
My research for providence was difficult, sold by auction in the 50s and remained in the same family for many years before coming to auction again in the early 2000s.
Made from English oak, the tree would be about 300 years old when downed to make furniture, meaning the wood is about 800 years old.
