This is a beautiful signed etching by Percy Robertson depicting the John Knox House, Edinburgh.


Percy Robertson was born in Bellagio, Italy in 1869,and died in 1934. He was the son of the watercolourist Charles Robertson. Educated at Charterhouse School, he won the Leech Prize for drawing in 1884. In 1887 he was elected to the Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers ( The Royal Society of Printmakers), in 1908 he was awarded a full scholarship.
In 1905 he moved to London where he concentrated on London Streets and the Thames.
