Delightful pair of small late 19th.c. gilded side chairs c.1890. Beautiful slim frames, the backrest topped with scrolling acanthus leaf carving, bead mouldings and a cresting rail with a repeating arch over turned and fluted spindles and turned finials. The bead moulding continues on the front and sides below the sprung seat, whilst the front legs are also turned and fluted to match. Lovely condition with original gilding, obviously worn in places. Serviceable upholstery in a slate blue/grey fabric with an interesting gold thread braid.
