Circa 1870, pair of Victorian carved oak armorial hall chairs, the padded square backs surmounted with large cartouches carved with stags and a coronet above an armorial, over stuffover seats raised on carved and fluted tapered legs ending in porcelain castors. The pair have been traditionally reupholstered in a deep buttoned red leather.
Note: The arms are those of Skeffington, the Viscounts Massereene and Ferrard. The chairs were probably commissioned as part of a suite by John Skeffington (1812-1863) for their former seat of Clotworthy House in County Antrim.

Size 106cm high x 53cm wide x 63cm deep.
