An excellent pair of French armchairs, or Fauteils, from the 19th century. Of good construction, made from solid rosewood with a lovely deep, rich, colour and patina. They are decorated with crisply carved floral detailing to the crest and knees and they stand on their original castors. The have a lovely flowing form and are really very elegant. The off-white upholstery is in worn condition, with some discolouration but is still serviceable and they are very comfortable to sit in. Should you wish , we can get these chairs professionally re-upholstered in a material of your choosing. The frames are sturdy and strong, in excellent condition.
