This pair of garden urns are of large proportions and heavy construction. They are constructed from cast iron, which has been shot blasted and overpainted inside and out in a grey colour. The paintwork probably dates from within the last twenty years. Because of the paintwork the urns are difficult to date with accuracy, but they do clearly have some quite considerable age. We believe that the urns themselves are probably Victorian, but that the square bases are more recent. The urns are in the Greek style with a nice fluted design and shape.

Condition Overall this handsome pair of urns are in good usuable condition, with some wear consistent with age and garden use. There is some loss, flaking and chipping to the paintwork in places. There are some casting imperfections and some surface pitting, rusting and corrosion. The urns are overall grubby as might be expected from garden items.
