Here is a good quality pair of antique French walnut Fauteuil armchairs (circa 1870), in excellent condition.

Here is a stunning quality pair of antique French walnut Fauteuil tapestry carved armchairs (circa 1870) from the 2nd Empire period. The chairs are constructed of solid walnut and feature high shaped backs, straight fronts and carved bobbin turned legs, which are connected with turned shaped stretchers. The armchairs feature down swept arms, which terminate in scroll ends carved with acanthus leaves. The chairs have been newly upholstered in top quality hardwearing ivory colour chenille fabric, with a subtle diamond pattern, finished with ivory braiding. The undersides of the chairs have been recovered with traditional hessian material. The sprung seats are extremely comfortable to sit on they do not sag.
The chairs feature a dark rich brown walnut colour. As they boast the original polish,they have a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms including the bedroom, living room, dining room or hallway. The chairs would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

There is no damage or breaks to the back or legs nor any lose movements to the arms. The frames and arms are in excellent condition. The chairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble.
