Beautifully upholstered pair of late 19th.c. French fauteuil armchairs c.1890. With the high back and open sides typical of the form. Carved and shaped walnut arms, legs and stretchers with scrolling acanthus leaf detail. Generously proportioned and sprung seat. Recently reupholstered in a striking feature fabric patterned with panthers climbing through tree branches. Excellent condition, though the covers are not brand new they are very clean.
