Quality pair of French Empire mahogany armchairs c.1820. Exposed mahogany frames with the arms carved as Classical style fish (often referred to as dolphins) complete with tails where they join to the backrests. Padded backrest and sides over sprung seats, upholstered in a pale fabric with Classical floral designs and brass studs to the edges. Palmate detail to the front of the arms supports and Egyptian inspired papyrus carved detail to the front feet. Some minor wear to the covers, generally very good condition, the frames have been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
