Description:
Here is a fine quality antique pair of Edwardian inlaid mahogany salon armchairs, circa 1900, originating from England, UK, which is in good condition. The pair of armchairs is constructed of solid mahogany, with satinwood string inlay and centralized inlaid fan motifs to the backs and splayed arms either side. The armchairs have been newly upholstered in top quality gold silk brocade upholstery, displaying a geometric pattern, finished with matching gold braiding. This upholstery would have reflected the original style of upholstery used. The underside of the seats has been re-webbed in the traditional manner, using hessian, to ensure the seats are comfortable but secure at the same time. The armchairs stand on elegant tapering string-inlaid mahogany legs.
The armchairs feature a mellow mahogany brown colour. As they boast the original polish, they have a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
The armchairs would look superb in any drawing, parlour, living room or orangery. The chairs would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

Condition Report:
The armchairs are in good condition having been newly upholstered. Therefore, the upholstery is new and free from damage, rips, and marks or fading. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There is no missing inlay to the frames. The frames and arms are solid and in sound condition with no loose movements. There has been an old repair to an arm on one of the chairs however, this arm is solid and not loose. The armchairs sit firm on the ground and do not wobble. As the armchairs boast the original polish, they have a fantastic mellow colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning they have received.
