Splendid pair of Chippendale style mahogany library armchairs c.1970. Solid mahogany frames with button upholstered backrests and seat pads. Extensive carved and parcel gilded detail to the arms, terminals and supports and on apron below the seat, continued on the sides. Raised on good cabriole front legs with carved acanthus leaf detail to the knees and feet also gilded to match. Upholstered in a crimson silk damask . Very good conditon with clean and serviceable covers. Suitable for use as desk chairs (seat height 19″).
Dimensions: width 29″, depth 23″, height 41″.
