Pair Kralik Iridescent Crackle Glass Vases c1900
A very lovely pair of Kralik iridescent crackle glass vases c1900. The vases are of an elongated waisted. With rainbow iridescence over a crackle pale-green ground. A pair of beautiful vases of many characters depending on light! The vases measure 25.5 cm in height. Unmarked as is typical of Kralik glass.
These vases are in excellent original condition with no chips or cracks to their bodies. Very minor fleabite to internal side of rim. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
Crackle Glass was thought to have been developed by Venetian glass makers of the 16th Century. This process requires molten hot glass to be immersed in cold water causing the piece of glass to crack. The glass is then reheated and blown into shape. The reheating of the glass seals the cracks in the glass. Viewing welcomed - please contact us in advance.
Secure payment by debit/credit card is available via our website (see our Dealer's page here on Antiques Atlas for link).
