VERY RARE IMPORTANT PAIR OF SIGNED PHILIP CLISSETT 'PASSMORE' CHAIRS C1890 ARTS AND CRAFTS.
COTSWOLD SCHOOL.
Only a few of these chairs have been discovered signed , possibly only one other so to find a pair is incredibly rare indeed.
One chair is slightly smaller than the other made most likely for husband and wife.
Both chairs signed with the stamped 'PC' mark to the underside of both arms on each chair.
H 115 CM Larger chair
H 114 CM Smaller chair
In very good condition.
Philip Clissett was a 19th century country chair maker who influenced and inspired the English Arts and Crafts Movement through various architect designers one being the leading light Ernest Gimson.
