Description:
Here is an attractive pair of fine quality English Georgian Regency style flame mahogany Bachelor serpentine chest of drawers, circa 1970, in excellent condition. The chests feature a classic Regency style serpentine design. The tops incorporate lovely flame mahogany veneers, with cross-banded top, with moulded edges and decorated with reded canted corners. The chests feature four mahogany lined, dovetailed drawers with cock-beaded frames, decorated with flame mahogany veneers. The drawers also incorporate classic Regency style Brass swan neck fretwork handles, which are attached to circular escutcheons. The chests are raised on Georgian bracket feet.
This pair of chests would look great in a variety of rooms from the living room as lamp antique tables, or the bedroom as bedsides. They are an extremely useful pair of chests to have in the house. The chests boast a rich brown mahogany colour with a lovely patination to the timber.
Condition Report:
This pair of chests is in excellent original condition. They have been French polished and the handles cleaned in our workshops. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and inside drawer bottoms but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no marks, scratches or stains to the tops of the chests. The items are completely original. The drawers are free running and close flush to the frame. All brassware is in good condition and present. These items are solid in joint, they do not wobble and are ready to use.
