These are two very beautiful antique Persian Tabriz carpets dating from the late 19th century. The pair are handwoven in a very fine and lustrous wool, the design is wonderfully intricate and flowing. The carpets have a two way design with urns issuing flowers at each end, the warm ochre field filled with tree of life motifs and stylised flowers in bright blues and deep coral shades. There are also deer and birds in and amongst the trees. Altogether a very pretty design and pleasingly light colour palette.
The carpets are in good condition for their age, the pile is good and the edges complete, there is a little wear to the fringes. They measure 198 cms by 134 cms.
Rare to find a pair, especially such a pretty pair, the carpets are hand washed and ready for use.
