Pair 1930s Bamboo Leather Library Armchairs
These are two substantial armchairs. I am guessing that they were made in the 1930s - 1950s when there was a revival in interest in oriental styles. The two chairs are made in bamboo and have Chinese Chippendale designs to their backs and arms. (You see a lot of similar chairs made in faux mahogany dating to around 1800.)
The armchairs seats have recently been recovered in leather. The leather is in excellent condition - one mark - see photos. There is some minor losses to the straps at the joints. This is minor. The joints are solid - see photo. The bamboo has a lovely patina of age.
We now associate these style of chairs with conservatories and Verandas but actually these chairs were conceived to go into home Libraries and principal rooms. They are substantial and elegant.
The first chair is 19 inches to the seat and 38 inches high in the back and it is 21 inches wide from outside arm to outside arm.
The tub style chair seat is 17 inches high and the back is 31 inches high and it is 25 inches wide from outside arm to outside arm.

If you require a courier to deliver, do not despair as it is a lot easier to arrange than you would imagine and probably a lot cheaper as well. Once you have booked with them they will get in touch with me directly for collection so you only need concern yourself with the delivery date to you.
You pay the couriers for their service on delivery.
