Original John Gould lithograph from Birds of Asia
This is a beautifully framed original lithograph from Birds of Asia by John Gould published in 7 volumes between 1850 and 1883. It depicts the Spotted Nutcracker, Nucifraga multipunctata. The plate was illustrated and lithographed by John Gould in association with Henry Constantine Richter. It is Plate 59 from Volume 5 in the series.
Dimensions:
Frame - Height 90 cm x Width 71 cm x Depth 1.5 cm
Weight 6.2 kg
Condition: The plate is in very good to excellent condition with strong bright colours. There is the odd small foxing spot. The frame with its burr-elm veneer is probably 20 to 30 years old and is in very good condition.
Delivery: Due to its size and the large expanse of glass we recommend delivery using our trusted delivery person. The charge is £50 to most places in England and Wales which should remain the same irrespective of the number of pictures purchased from us. Please note that we have six John Gould Asian Birds listed with this style of framing. Please contact us to confirm the delivery price to your location.

We have a trusted delivery man who is a experienced in transporting antiques, pictures and fragile items. He can deliver to most places on mainland England and Wales and, depending on where he is on his schedule, it may take a few days or up to 4 weeks. Other couriers are available for Scotland and North Wales or where a shorter time frame is required. Purchases can also be collected in person from the Tunbridge Wells area in SE England.
