A magnificent and grand Old Sheffield Plate meat or food dome by George Waterhouse of Sheffield, marked on the interior, this mark was used between 1842-1846, enabling us to date it accurately.

The fabulous handle is beautifully hand chased. The front is inset with a solid piece of sterling silver (you can see where it sits) which was engraved with a family armorial crest, this was the only way of adding an engraved motif to Old Sheffield Plate.

A superb looking piece in excellent condition measuring 18" x 14" x 13" tall.
