A late Victorian oil on canvas in a contemporary gilt and carved glazed frame. Possibly a Theatre or Opera character?. Unsigned, canvas stamps and framers label verso. Also “ESK” on the reverse presumably for “examined South Kensington” probably referring to the South Kensington (Art) School. Overall, in excellent condition incl. the frame. The canvas measures 46 by 38 cms. excluding the frame. Preferred method of payment is by bank transfer (UK faster payment or to our €Euro account) which incurs no additional costs or charges.
