Oak & Brass Book Rest / Lectern - Reg. For 1894
A wonderful Victorian wooden & brass book rest perfect for the Library but would equally look at home in the kitchen.
It's angle can be easily adjusted by moving the easel back up or down the ridges. The front is highly decorative with pierced polished brass panels fitted by two solid brass frames running down each side.
What is rather nice about this piece is the embossed English design registration number on the folding easel back, 226968 which allows us to date this to 1894, a true Victorian gem.
Excellent condition having been professionally re-polished to gleam, overall measuring 10 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 2" tall while closed flat.
