A fabulous and most unusual figural desk-top piece which would have been a visiting card receiver in a grand house around 125 years ago.

The base is made from a wonderful piece of Scottish Agate, retaining it's wonderful bright polished patina. The from is made from a polished rose coloured brass and sits on a lovely shaped base in a yellow brass. He retains two wonderful green glass eyes.

A perfect novelty business card holder today, a real talking point on the finest of desk tops. Dating to the late Victorian era, it remains in excellent condition measuring 5 3/4" x 4" x 1 3/4" tall.
