A fabulous novelty Victorian table cruet, beautifully cast and signed by the artist / manufacturer on the underside.

The handsome dog stands on a naturalistic base and this is where the diamond shaped English registration design mark can be found, which allows us to date this piece accurately, registered on April 4th, 1871.

The dog holds the open salt in his mouth in the form of a handled basket. The mustard and pepper are held either side of the dog.

Excellent condition, measuring 5 3/4" max x 4 1/4" max x 5 1/4" tall to top of handle.
