Mid 19th.c. portrait of a lady in oil on canvas c.1850. A striking image of a lady with large hazel eyes and jet black hair parted in the centre. A lady of modest tastes perhaps, she wears a black gown with a high collar and white lace trim, an unusual embroidered white lace cap or bonnet tied below the chin and a simple gold chain. Very good condition, presented unframed on the original stretcher
