This is a mid 19th century naïve oil painting of Jedburgh Abbey, Scotland on papier-mâché recently framed in a top quality period-style hand finished frame.

Jedburgh Abbey, a ruined Augustinian abbey which was founded in the 12th century, is situated in the town of Jedburgh, in the Scottish Borders 10 miles (16 km) north of the border with England at Carter Bar.

Dimensions: Frame - 36.5 x 30 x 3.5 cm
Weight 1.1 kg

Condition: The painting is in generally good antique condition with just a small chip in the bottom left corner. It has been matched with an Italian-made, antiqued-finish black and gilt frame.
