"Rt Hon.Lord Collingwood,vice admiral of the Red,Major General of Marines and Commander in Chief of His Majesty's ships in the Mediterranean.Engraved by Charles Turner from an original painting in the possession of Lady Collingwood.To whom this print is most respectfully dedicated by Her Ladyships obed.t & very h.mble serv.t J. Colnagi."
London published July 1st 1811 by Messrs Colnagi & Co.Printsellers Cockspur Street,Hay Market.
He is depicted on deck with a naval battle raging beyond.
20" x 13.75"(510 x 350mm)
Some slight staining mainly confined to lower left title.
Frame with some losses.
Cuthert Collingwood Baron Collingwood 1748-1810. admiral.Was second in command at Trafalgar and was the first to engage the enemy and took command on Nelson's death ,but failed to follow Nelson's last orders and lost many prize ships as a result.
He had blockaded Cadiz 1797-8,Brest 1799-1805,Toulon 1808-10.
He died and was buried at sea. You may return a purchase within 14 days for a refund if you are not happy with it,but you will have to pay the full cost of return postage/carriage.The item must be returned undamaged.
