FINE OIL PAINTING OF SAILING VESSEL HEADING TOWARD THE HARBOUR ENTRANCE IN ROUGH CHOPPY SEAS & PRESENTED IN DECORATIVE SWEPT FRAME 29 X 26 INCHES.
An extremely well painted marine seascape by listed artist Robert Dumont Smith,of a sailing vessel negotiating rough seas around the harbour wall area.
The painting is executed on artists board in very fine detail and has accurately captured the blue skyline and the florescent lime green sea water with crests of waves breaking towards the harbour entrance.
Very realistic painting of the sea and full of atmosphere.

The swept pierced frame is a beautifully detailed original example in good order.
DATE (Estimated around c1930-40)
The artist was born in 1908 and this example is thought to be a fairly early work by this talented artist.
