Your focus is drawn to the isolated tranquillity with mist ascending high up the hills & into the mountains on both flanks adding mystery to the atmosphere, a narrow walking path to the right with green low lush grass on the verges leading up to the tough rugged mountains also purple heather to the left can be viewed in the background. Lower down are 4 multi coloured in red, golden brown & black long horn cattle standing in tall golden brown moorland grass, 3 of them are looking towards the viewer, the 4th looking down & is only interested in grazing, with stone boulders nearby & further back. A winding loch is to the right, The water is lighter towards the bottom right & gets darker further back with light shimmering on the surface creating a chiaroscuro effect light todark which is brilliant. Having such broad perspective detail this calming scene.
Oil on canvas.
