Limited Edition Fine Art Print by Lawrence Coulson
A high quality artwork presented in a great modern frame. It is a signed (pencil in margin) limited edition (103/150) giclée on paper by British Artist Lawrence Coulson. Published by Washington Green Fine Art in 2009 entitled 'Twilight's last gleaming'
This is a great study of the evening light and is a particular interpretation by Lawrence. His evocative paintings illustrate the power of nature also rendering the beauty of natural phenomena such as sunrises, lightning, snow and fog.
To achieve his individual style he uses oil-based materials in the original to give lustre, depth and warmth, along with layers of pastel colour to add softness. In addition to very soft brushes, he uses his hands and fingers to move the paint around, pushing one tone into another.
Inspiration comes from the drama he witnesses in the ever changing British landscape coupled with the work of the likes of J.M.W. Turner, Caspar David Friedrich and Edward Seago. As the son of the successful landscape painter Gerald Coulson, Lawrence was encouraged from a young age to explore his artistic talents.
Lawrence says: "Living at the edge of a small village means that I can walk out into huge vistas with towering skies, or absorb myself in silent trees and foliage. As I grow older, I feel a greater affinity with these places."
Size: Frame is 21 1/2 inches by 22 1/2 inches the image area is 10 inches by 10 inches (this is a big quality frame and sits at 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches deep).
Condition: ready to hang as new.
A certificate from Washington Green is attached verso.
A giclée is a printing process which creates a richness, accuracy and depth of colour through microscopic dots of pigment-based ink, ensuring the fidelity of the print to the original artwork. Buchanan and Laing Galleries are a private client business. Appointments can be made by arrangement via email.
The Company is a distance selling business and as such abides by all current HM Government consumer regulations that apply to pre-owned, second hand, antique items sold online.
We welcome purchases from all over the world, however, we do not take any responsibility or pay for import charges and taxes that non UK purchasers may accrue.
