Late 19th Century Art Nouveau Occasional Chair
An attractive late 19th century Art Nouveau occasional chair with inlaid boxwood tulips to the two tall slat backs. This decorative oak framed chair delivers on the simple lines of the 19th century Aesthetic movement - details include simple stretchers, outswept arms and a curved top rail. Compact in proportion and with a low seat this was probably used as a nursing chair or child's chair and would now look lovely in a nursery or child's bedroom. English antique, dated c. 1890-1900.
An attractive Art Nouveau inlaid open elbow chair displaying the symmetry and clean lines associated with this period.
The solid mahogany frame is in an excellent antique condition and has a lovely worn patina to the arms. The chair has latterly been reupholstered in a Nina Campbell fabric which is sympathetic to the period of the chair (note: the upholstery fabric is Nina Campbell's Beau Rivage in Green / Beige from Les Rêves collection and is in a good, clean condition).
This is a pretty antique armchair which is fit for purpose as well as being decorative. This chair would work with many different interior schemes and settings including a child's bedroom or nursery or as a decorative hall chair.
Delivered lightly cleaned, polished and ready to place in the home.
