This is a large Victorian carved wood frame with gesso moulded detail of good size dating from around 1880.The gilt finish has aged nicely with a dull dry frosted appearance to the gesso. The heavy frame is a a substantial size measuring 92 cms by 65 cms overall. The aperture is 70 cms by 44.8 cms. The opening at the back to receive the painting is 73 cms by 47.5 cms.
