A large and impressive antique early 19th century Old Sheffield Plate kettle on stand dating to circa 1830

Standing on four feet the whole stand in neo classical style with scrolling foliate decoration with circular recess to take the spirit burner

The body of the kettle of plain form with decorative side handle frames and porcelain carry handles or insulators

The cover of circular form with beaded decoration and a larger main carry handle again with porcelain insulation

The decoration on the stand and the handles is extremely intricate and of high quality and are almost a work of art in themselves

Condition is fair with some plate loss damage to the underside of the cover which doesn't show when the cover is in place and various age related dents

However this does not detract from the overall appearance of this magnificent antique kettle and when polished and gleaming is a really impressive statement piece being a larger than average example
