Phenomenal late 19th.c. gilded overmantle mirror c.1890. Bevalled oval centre mirror plate surrounded by a border of four shaped panels set within a slim gilded frame with leaf pattern and beaded detail and moulded cartouches at the quarter points. Topped with an exceptional gilded gesso frieze with lovebirds perched upon a crossed torch and quiver of arrows, set within flower garlands and oak leaves. Silvering to the mirrors in the border, otherwise lovely condition with original gilding.
