Very Early English Carved Gilt Oval Wall Mirror, c1700-1720.

Wonderfully carved frame with foliage decoration, typical of the period.

Frame has been re-gilded in the Victorian era, gilding is water/oil gilt and has a lovely mellow look. Some minor nibbles to the gesso/carving all consistent with it's age.

Complete with a mercury silvered mirror plate which has light overall foxing and a good colour.
