Rare, unusual and large 18th century Chinese cart/carriage door, c1790.

The door has a real decorative appeal and presence standing at 4ft tall. There is a large central painted panel depicting traditional Chinese figures, metal work embellishments including large rivets/studs, ring handle and staples. The wood has taken on beautiful colour/patina following years of use and handling.

It would display well hung on a wall or standing on the floor and would work in a modern or traditional setting.

Overall condition is very good given its age with only minor surface wear/fading to the paint work and small surface cracks in the wood. There are gaps to indicate a very few rivets are missing, all exactly as you would expect given its age and use.
