We are pleased to offer for sale this stunning oil on canvas by the well regarded, young English artist Julie Vernon, who has signed the painting J.Vernon in the lower right hand corner and dated it 2012. She has also signed and dated the canvas verso and entitled 'The Post Office'. The painting depicts a young woman on a windy day, clutching her hat to keep it from blowing away, while dashing to the post office. The artist has managed to convey a wonderful sense of movement in this painting.

JULIE VERNON originates from Blackpool, but is currently residing in Manchester. She studied Fine Art at Blackpool and the Fylde College and Graphic Design at Liverpool John Moores Polytechnic. She works principally in oils on canvas, but has also worked in acrylics and graphite. She believes, in her animal and figure studies, in capturing the essence of the subjects as part of their environment.

She is a Member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Art (MAFA) and a Member of the Association of Animal Artists (AAA). She was a Finalist and Commended artist in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year 2012 and a Commended artist in the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2011. She has exhibited in many group shows throughout the North West and London.

We have framed the painting in a 2 3/8" modern silver frame, which suits it vey well. It is ready to hang.
