A Meiji period jewellery box of excellent quality in silver, bamboo and lacquer.
Made about 1880 this signed, decorative jewellery box has a timber carcass, with a bamboo overlay..
The lacquered doors are overlaid with engraved mirrored silver doors. Internally, black lacquer faces the internal door and tapered drawers, which are lined with deep green padded velvet, which appears to be unused. A beautiful example of Japanese art in fine condition.size 15cm by 13cm by 13cm d
